Who is the HICAT course for?

The Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapies (HICAT) Practitioner Training  Course will prepare you to work as a 'Creative Arts Practitioner' or 'Creative Therapist'. It will develop your skills, knowledge and confidence, giving you the tools and techniques to transform your career and help others to transform their lives. It will also connect you to the best parts of yourself.

You do not need to have any prior experience of working in creative arts or have any artistic talent, the course is more about the process rather than the outcome and will empower you to help others through the medium of creativity.


What is Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy (HICAT)?

Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy is the use of art, music, drama, dance/movement, poetry/creative writing, play, storytelling, sand play and sound within the context of psychotherapy, counselling, rehabilitation and holistic healing. It enhances physical, mental and emotional functioning and wellbeing.

What do HICAT practitioners do?


HICAT practitioners work with the whole person and assist people to become self-empowered through supporting them on a journey of self-exploration and personal growth, incorporating the body, mind, emotions and spirit.

This course is evidence-based. It connects clinical research with ancient traditional wisdom, developing the mind, expanding creativity, building confidence and self-awareness, realigning the body's cells, reconnecting with the essence of joy and awakening the spirit.

Who is the course suitable for?

  • Several course intakes per year - choose the start date that fits best with your schedule.

  • Recognised certification: Upon completion of the 'Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapist Practitioner' course, graduates will be able to use the letters: Mbe.HICATprac. after their name and can also join the 'International Institute of Complementary Therapists', 'The International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine', 'The Complementary Medical Association' and the 'International Association of Therapists'. Professional insurance can be obtained after graduation.
